DesktopBSD part two.

Okay, so now I have installed DesktopBSD. And that was easy. Without a doubt the simplest installation I've done. Chosing disc/partition was the only remotly advanced thing to do. Then the system reboots and I had to set root password and add users. Then I was finished.

But...
Yep, there is a but. DesktopBSD has implemented a software package installer in KDE. This is the best graphical interface I've used in dealing with package installations. But it didn't work for me. I couldn't get it to install any package. I noticed that Openoffice is a package available for installtion which meets my specefications.

To sum it all up, my five hour tryout of the DesktopBSD system ends with a installation of another dist. I'm now downloading ArkLinux. Not ArchLinux. But with the package-installer working the DesktopBSD could be really nice.
