DesktopBSD

I right this moment downloading the image file for DesktopBSD. This could be it.

Maybe I should explain the background to my searching.
I got a call from my local ISP (extremly local since the are the next house on the block). They said that my connection was cut due to possible virus-threats from my computer. So I get home that evening and I realized that Windows XP is now history. One of my friends had been pushing me for a long time to install Linux. But I've stayed with Windows for small reasons.
It's not that i never tried Linux either. I had a couple of desktop installations of Redhat/Mandrake (now Mandrivia)/Slackware ages ago. And i pretty much had a linuxbox going 24/7 since my parents got ADSL. So I'm not a total newbie.

Anyway. I finally got myself togehter and installed som real stuff ;) Now I'm currently using Ubuntu on my primary machine and Debian Etch on my secondary machine. But the secondary is going to be reinstalled with DesktopBSD as soon as possible.

I think we need some serious Linux/BSD competition. And what I'm looking for is a distribution that is extremly easy to install, and has KDE. If Openoffice is in the bundle thats just perfect! A dream would be a Linux/BSD distribution that a Windows 9*, 2K, XP user can handle directly. I'm not saying that Linux should imitate it, but at least realize that if we want more users supporting the Linux/BSD we don't need newbies that will grow into hardcore powerusers. We the newbies that are happy to be newbie and no more. And that crowd is big.

Thats all for now. My abillity to express exactly what I am thinking in this language is not what really that good. So this took me a while to write. But I plan on continoue to write in english.
